Platinum as an investment metal
Platinum is certainly, like palladium, one of the rarer investment metals. Platinum and palladium were not discovered until about 180 years ago. Throughout the history of mankind they played a subordinate role as conventional payment instruments.
Platinum is a heavy metal which is resistant to corrosion and which can be easily worked. Because of its high durability and rarity, platinum is used in particular for the fabrication of high quality jewellery. In addition, platinum is an important raw material in the automobile industry, for example for the production of catalysts.
The range of platinum coins is relatively limited. Geiger Edelmetalle offers palladium in bullion in its own SCHLOSS GÜLDENGOSSA edition.
When purchasing platinum bullion value added tax applicable by law of 8 percent must be paid.
