We offer lockers in various sizes in the Niederglatt (Canton of Zurich) and St. Margrethen (Canton of St. Gallen) branches.
Your future locker is located in an alarm-secured building and works with a double lock system. After signing the contract with Geiger Edelmetalle AG, you will receive the keys and access authorization during the regular opening hours of Geiger Edelmetalle AG.

Geiger Edelmetalle AG insures your precious metals against burglary, robbery, fire and natural hazards. You can get this mandatory insurance for just 0.2 percent of the stored and current precious metal value.
An example:
You are storing precious metals worth CHF 20,000.00.
Sum insured for 1 year: CHF 40.00 (incl. VAT plus fixed locker fees)

What is the requirement to rent a safe deposit box with you?
You reach the minimum investment amount of CHF 10,000.00 and get listed as a safe deposit box customer. After that, a contract signing is possible.
What may be stored in the safe deposit box and what of it is insured in a certified manner?
Our safe deposit boxes offer the possibility of storing precious metals, jewelry, cash, securities, deeds or other goods of a similar nature. Strictly prohibited is the storage of prohibited or dangerous items.
The safe storage of your precious metals is our concern and we subject our facility to periodic inspection. The ZÜRICH insurance certifies the damage coverage in case of fire and natural hazards, as well as burglary and robbery. This protection applies to all stored precious metals.
Is the insurance mandatory and is there a maximum insurance amount?
Our safe deposit boxes are periodically inspected by an external insurance inspection commission and we subsequently receive our insurance certificate. The insurance covers all damages caused by fire and natural hazards, as well as burglary and robbery. In case of damage you will get back the value of your stored precious metals. This arrangement is not common in the safe deposit industry and therefore the insurance is obligatory.
Due to the high standard, there is no insurance limit and can be increased as desired.
How will I be billed for my safe deposit box?
The safe deposit box invoice is issued in CHF or EURO for the duration of one year in advance.
The amount is composed of the safe deposit fee (fixed amount) and the sum insured (volatile amount - depending on the current precious metal price at the time of calculation).
The precious metal rate is always quoted on the first working day of the new year. Deposits made during the year will be invoiced subsequently. Invoices are generally sent by e-mail or post.
Can the storage/retrieval of precious metals be done without my presence?
Personal visit by the main tenant or authorized person is necessary for storage/removal, as we are not in possession of any keys.
The sale of precious metals can only be made by the beneficial owner.
How is access to the safe deposit box regulated?
During regular opening hours, you have the opportunity to visit your safe deposit box by appointment. The main tenant or an authorized person (contractually agreed in advance) must show an identification document and the locker key when visiting.
What happens if the key can no longer be found?
If a key is lost, Geiger Edelmetalle AG must be notified immediately. Since you as the tenant have been issued all keys, the lock must be changed by an external company. The drilling is carried out in the presence of the tenant, therefore an appointment is obligatory. The costs will be borne by the main tenant.
Costs in case of loss of one key: min. CHF 350.00
Costs in case of loss of two keys: min. CHF 1'600.00
Can I cancel the safe deposit box at any time?
The rental agreement may be terminated at any time by either party with effect from the end of a month. The notice of termination can only be given by the main tenant. An appointment is mandatory and all outstanding costs must be settled when moving out. In case of termination during the year, there will be no refund of the locker costs.
