This is a vintage gold circulation coin.

British 1-pound Gold Sovereign coins have been minted since 1816 (or 1817).

From 1893 until her death on January 22, 1901, Queen Victoria was depicted on Gold Sovereign coins in the dignified "Old Head" portrait, featuring a veil, diadem, and pearl necklace. The reverse side of the Sovereign features Saint George battling a dragon.

The coin offered here is from the reign of Queen Victoria.

Year: 1861

The reverse side features the Royal Coat of Arms.

It is composed of a gold-copper alloy (916.6/1000 fineness), similar to that of the Krugerrand.

Gross weight: 7.96 g. The gross weight may vary slightly.

Fine weight: 7.3 g.

Condition: Very Fine to Extremely Fine. Exhibits minor surface scratches and rim imperfections.

The coin will be shipped in a small plastic coin pouch.
