The Australian mint Perth Mint has been shaping the coins of the Lunar III series since September 2019 with annually changing motifs. The Lunar III series is the successor of the highly successful Lunar I series in silver (1996-2007) and Lunar II series (2008-2019). The series is based on the 12 zodiac signs of the Chinese lunar calendar. The Lunar III series in silver started in 2019, the year 2020 is the year of the mouse.

The motif changes annually, the entire series runs for 12 years - corresponding to the 12 zodiac signs.
