Now the first British platinum coin of the series The Queens Beast "The Lion of England" has appeared.
The series has been issued since 2016 by the Royal Mint in England. The motif of the coin will change, with this coin starts now a new 10-part coin series. That is why the Platinum coin for collectors as well as for investors is an interesting new release on the market.
The front and back of the coin are designed by the British coin designer Jody Clark. The detailed motif shows a roaring lion standing on his hind legs and holding a crest of a United Kingdom coat of arms.
The "Queens Beasts" are called wappened animals, which were used in the United Kingdom for example on signs. They received their name originally in 1953 as the occasion of the coronation of Queen Elizabeth, the sculptor James Woodford designed 10 statues on the basis of the previous Wappentiere. These creatures were now called the "The Queens Beasts". That is why the further motifs will also deal with the British coat of arms, or even heraldry.
The coin is delivered in 10 packs in one tube. The coin series is embossed with a fineness of 999,5 / 1,000 platinum.
With each new motif, a 2 oz silver coin, 1 oz gold coin and a 1/4 oz gold coin and later a 1 oz platinum coin with the same motif are issued.
