The Vreneli gold coin is one of the best-known Swiss bullion coins amongst collectors and investors.
The ‘little sister’ of the 20-franc Vreneli was minted from 1911 to 1922. Total mintage: approx. 2.65 million.
The gold coin has a fineness of 900/1000.
The face value side features ‘10 FR’ and the year of issue, with the Swiss cross and a halo above. At the bottom edge are two alpine roses and branches of gentian flowers, along with the mint mark ‘B’ for Bern. It has a beaded edge. The edge is ribbed. On the design side, unlike the 20-franc coin, the artist’s name, F. LANDRY, is inscribed on the lower left-hand edge. It features a portrait in profile of a young woman with a wreath of hair against an Alpine panorama.
