100 Swiss francs 1925 Vreneli
Original images (you will receive exactly the coin shown) The photos were taken with a Nikon D3400 digital camera and two different lighting angles.
The 100 franc gold coin from 1925 was the largest gold coin minted during the Swiss Confederation (1848 to present) and is equivalent to five 20 franc Vreneli coins.
The aim and purpose of this issue was to meet a long-standing need of the Federal Department of Finance to have a coin available that could only be used for official gifts and honours.
The motif side is identical to the 20 franc Vreneli coin, showing the profile of a young woman with braided hair against an Alpine panorama. Her dress is embroidered with edelweiss and she wears a traditional neckerchief.
The reverse side shows the face value of 100 francs with the date. Above this is the bright Swiss cross. Alpine roses are depicted below the year and the mint mark ‘B’ for Bern.
