The Vreneli gold coin is one of the best-known Swiss investment coins among collectors and investors. In 1897, the Goldvreneli, with a new design, replaced the 20-franc Helvetia gold coin (Helvetia = Switzerland, mintage 1.75 million coins) minted between 1883 and 1896.
Between 1897 and 1949, approximately 58.63 million of the popular Swiss Gold Vreneli coins were minted.
Although the name of this gold coin was not officially changed to Vreneli until before the Second World War (and first documented in writing in 1943), all coins minted during this period are now referred to as Vreneli.
The investment coin has a fineness of 900/1000.
The value side features the Swiss coat of arms entwined with oak branches and the year, while the motif side shows the profile portrait of a young woman with a wreath of hair against an Alpine panorama.
Condition: Excellent. With minor scratches.
The coin is delivered in a coin pouch.
